![]() Boasting Kate Winslet in the title role, twisty plotlines, and breakneck pacing, the series earned fans aplenty over the course of its seven-episode run. ![]() They're more like two different songs in the same genre of music. On Sunday night, HBO crime drama Mare of Easttown came to an end. They are very different shows in many ways. And don't think I'm saying Yellowjackets ripped off Equinox or anything like that because I'm really not. I could go on listing similar elements but you get the point. Mental health problems, multigenerational family trauma.A story told in the present day involving how the adult survivors coped with this event, and with a protagonist seeking answers from the past, interspersed with flashbacks to the teens leading up to the incident.A mysterious tragic event involving multiple teens in the past (21 years ago) who were traveling together when something bad happened. It's only one season with six episodes, so you can watch it this week while you wait for a new Yellowjackets episode to drop. I haven't watched anything past that so cant speak to it.Įquinox on Netflix. ![]() Season 7: Cult, also has some great thriller/mystery elements Season 5: Hotel, this one has some good mystery/thriller elements to it Season 4: Freakshow I really love this season Season 3: Coven never really gelled with me for some reason Season 2: Asylum also good but gets a bit messy with the different plotlines Season 1: Murder House is good but got a bit tedious for me with the teen drama storyline There are also some pretty great seasons of American Horror Story: Another fun little mystery show is Pokerface, though again, not intense in any way. I remember the first season of Big Little Lies being pretty intense.Ĭlass of 07 is a pretty fun comedy/apocalypse that has a similar premise as YJ, thought its not a thriller at all. If you don't mind subtitles, I've heard really great things about The Glory I've also been watching From, which is a pretty neat thriller/mystery/horror. Its more horror than thriller but there's also a mystery component to it. If you haven't seen the first season of The Haunting of Hill House, it's worth a watch.
